Matt J. Ulrich, CFA®

Matt is a Partner and the Director of Investment Research at Ulrich Investment Consultants. Matt came to Ulrich after a year-long tenure as a Valuation Associate with Andersen Tax, a global company that provides tax, valuation, financial advisory, and consulting services. During his time at Andersen, Matt focused on 409A valuations and estate and gift tax appraisals. Matt manages the investment research team at Ulrich which performs manager due diligence, asset allocation modeling, portfolio risk analysis, investment strategy monitoring, and market research. Additionally, Matt leads research initiatives with the team to provide insightful analysis and strategic guidance to clients.

Matt graduated with Honors from the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. Recognizing the intricate relationship between engineering principles and financial analytics, Matt pursued a Master of Science in Finance at the same institution, earning the degree in 2018. He is a holder of the right to use the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation and is a member of CFA Institute and CFA Society San Antonio. Outside of work, Matt is a fitness enthusiast who enjoys swimming and running. He finds relaxation in fly fishing and woodworking, balancing his professional life with these hands-on hobbies. Matt and his wife have been residents of San Antonio since 2019 and enjoy spending quality time together with their three dogs.
